Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Ali Can, a chief researcher from TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Fundamental Sciences Research Institute (TBAE), held seminars on Quantum Cryptography and Contextuality at various leading universities of Turkey.
Seminars took place at Hacettepe University on March 18, METU on March 31 and at Koç University on April 4 of 2016. In his presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Ali Can mainly focused on the relation between the principle of Quantum Contextuality (which has been better understood only in recent times) and Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generators (QRNG), both of which are the main application areas of Quantum Cryptology. He also underlined that the principle of Quantum Contextuality forms the very basis of the device independent QKD and QRNG systems. Moreover, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Ali Can added that such systems, which are the promising ones for the future as well, will eliminate all possible side-channel attacks and ensure security in a device independent manner.
